The nursery in Kilronan consists of two part time sessions. A strong emphasis is placed on learning through play. We provide a wide range of experiences for each child based on their individual needs. The children are encouraged to learn at their own pace and we encourage them to find out about themselves and their environment through exploring, investigating and being creative.
Learning through play
Exploring numbers 1-5. I have to find 3 apples and put them on the tree.
Table top play- I made a wonderful building with lots of different blocks.
Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. This is my favourite song at Circle Time. I enjoy following all the actions to the songs.
Spooky waters! Lots of things to find in the water. I am making choices and developing my hand-eye coordination.
Halloween sand- exploring all the different spooky textures. I am using my hands to find the hidden spiders.
Small world play- Old McDonald had a farm. I am feeding the animals. We use lots of natural materials when we play and pretend there are real vegetables growing in the soil.
Making vegetable soup- I am using the ladle to scoop up the vegetables.
I am creating a beautiful Autumn tree using a paintbrush.
Autumn Animals- the animals have different textures and I like to explore how they feel. I am also tracking the animals as they move.
Finding big and small dinosaurs. Lots of different textures to explore.
Play Dough- I am following a picture book to help me make a ghost for Halloween.
Lots of things to find in the deep dark water! I am using the fishing net to scoop up the different things in the water.
Creative animals- I am making an animal using a picture to help me.
Autumn leaves- I am using different stampers to print beautiful patterns on my leaf.
