Art activities in S3.

8th Jan 2020

S3 have been involved in a variety of art activities including a 3D art display in the front hall titled, “Reach for the Stars”.  The pupils made rockets and did hand prints, depicting personal targets, as part of the display.

The pupils also participated in a whole school Art project as part of Our “Rights Respecting Schools Award” journey. They painted pebbles with paint and marked each pebble with a number of an Article from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), that they had focused on in class. These pebbles were used as part of a whole school rainbow display.

The pupils also participated in a Literacy based display, titled “Letter Fun”, decorating initial Letters of common words or names.  They also created a Harvest Thanksgiving Wreath which was put on display at our Harvest assembly.

S3 pupils also participated in the SGN Natural Gas fun competition where the pupils (Santa’s Little Helpers) created gas -themed decorations for a real Christmas tree, gifted to the school by the gas provider.

This competition was planned to coincide with the arrival of natural gas to homes and businesses in the west of Northern Ireland.
