S4

Welcome to S4!

We are a brilliant bunch of 5 energetic boys. We have many unique talents and skills. Routine is important for us and we have many sensory needs. Therefore, we benefit from a sensory based approach to the Curriculum.  We are in Year 9 and Year 10 and we follow the Key Stage 3 NI Curriculum which is then adapted to cater for our learning styles and our individual needs.

Our curriculum involves developing teaching and learning in the following areas,

  1. English with Media
  2. Numeracy with Financial Capabilities
  3. Learning for Life and Work (including Employability, Local and Global Citizenship and Home Economics)
  4. Environment and Society (including History and Geography)
  5. Science and Technology
  6. The Arts (including Art & Design, Music and Drama)
  7. Physical Education
  8. Personal Development
  9. Religious Education
  10. Using ICT

During September, we were busy settling into our new classroom environment and establishing new relationships and friendships. We have been looking at the season of Autumn and its changes, whilst our teacher has been carrying out assessments to see where we are at with our learning.  We believe that when the pupils are happy and content, they will grow, progress achieve and work to their highest potential.

In S4, we try to encourage the pupils to believe in themselves and their abilities. We try to promote independence and we hope that their self-confidence will grow and grow.

We hope that we have given you some insight into our class. We want you to enjoy seeing some of our learning and what we have been doing in class. We look forward to keeping you updated with what we are getting up to throughout the school year. Please come back soon.
