The pupils thoroughly enjoyed our topic this term ‘Bright Sparks’. During Activity Based Learning, small group and whole group activities the pupils have been learning about light and dark, sources of light, identifying the difference between houses in the past compared to the future. From this the pupils were introduced to Thomas Edison, the man who invented the light bulb. During Attention Autism and small groups the pupils explored electricity. The pupils were able to create a circuit using a battery, red and black wires and a light bulb.
We looked at the artist Vincent Van Gogh and his painting ‘Starry Night’. The pupils observed the different stages of applying the paint and were given the materials to complete their own starry night picture independently.
