Over the past few months, S11 have been working hard to develop their independent life skills by completing elements of the CCEA Life Skills Accreditation. Pupils have explored activities at differentiated levels within two programmes: “Shopping Facilities” and “Leisure for Pleasure”. Through these, pupils have developed skills such as locating shops in the community, identifying what each shop sells, budgeting, creating purposeful shopping lists, comparing branded and unbranded prices, gaining confidence in asking staff for help, and making payments. They have also explored their favorite leisure activities, where to access them, and how these activities benefit daily life.
