Habitats

1st Apr 2022

As an introduction to our topic Habitats we explored what the term ‘Habitat’ means.

‘A habitat is a place where an organism makes it’s home. A habitat meets all the environmental conditions an organism needs to survive, such as food, water and Shelter.’ - National Geographic Society.

As a group we looked at where we live and what we as humans need to survive. The pupils enjoyed using ICT to support and enhance their learning. The pupils used the iPads and computers to type their address and search for their house on google maps.

We set up an airport in our classroom, went through security, boarded a plane and took a trip to the Sahara desert. We also had the opportunity to take care of two turtles, learn all about the animals that live in the desert, the weather and the cactus plant.

We hope you enjoy taking a look at the fantastic cross curricular learning opportunities experienced by J8.
