S8 students have worked very hard over the last few months and have successfully started their own mini enterprise with S9 called Kilronan Krafts. Students came together to create a name and logo for the business, and it was decided that they would focus on Christmas crafts. Students developed their self-management and listening skills along with their decision-making skills when creating their crafts. Students helped by, painting and lacquering wooden serving boards; adding artificial flowers to wreathes and decorating ceramic cups. These items were then sold at our Kilronan Krafts craft fair, and a small order was made by staff within the school. The experience has enabled pupils to develop functional numeracy and literacy skills. Staff have been delighted to work alongside the pupils to enable them to take responsibility and demonstrate their capabilities.
