In February, we had Shrove Tuesday. This provided many great learning experiences for the learners in J7. The pupils carefully weighed out the dry ingredients and used their capacity skills to measure the correct amount of milk. After successfully cracking 2 eggs the pupils took turns to whisk the mixture getting rid of all the lumps. They then watched for a change, with the mixture going from a liquid to a solid state. The pupils were also encouraged to watch for bubbles to rise before flipping their pancake. Best of all, however, was topping the pancakes and sampling the results of their hard work.
