S4 travel to Tesco in Magherafelt on a weekly basis. Pupils enjoy reading their shopping list to find ingredients needed for Home Economics. We explore how food is stored in Tescos and look at the cost of each item before purchasing. Pupils discuss as a group which items are better value for money. Pupils experience money management by using the self checkout, calculating the total cost of items and working out what change has been received.
