Music
20th Apr 2026
This term, pupils have been exploring different musical instruments and the families they belong to, such as strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion. They have been learning how each instrument makes its sound and how to recognise them when listening to music.
We also looked at the role of the conductor. Pupils discovered how musicians follow the conductor’s signals to stay together, change volume, and keep the music in time. They especially enjoyed having a turn to conduct the class themselves. These lessons have helped pupils build confidence, listen carefully, and enjoy making music as a group.
