Nursery Rhymes
This term, our class has enjoyed exploring the familiar and much loved theme of Nursery Rhymes. Through Humpty Dumpty, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Pat-a-Cake, Baa Baa Black Sheep and I’m a Little Teapot, pupils engaged in a wide range of sensory learning experiences. We explored rhymes through music, movement, lights, textures and sounds, supporting communication, attention and shared enjoyment. Creative art activities allowed pupils to express themselves using colour, shape and different materials, while practical life skills were developed as we worked together to make our own cake linked to Pat-a-Cake. These activities supported sensory exploration, early communication, cause and effect and positive engagement in a calm and playful learning environment. Sampling the cake we made was definitely the highlight!
