Planting Seedlings.
27th Apr 2026
S3 have taken part in an exciting soil experiment this week. We had the pleasure of welcoming a soil expert into our class, who taught us all about soil and compost, including which types are best and how to use them. We learned about what a wormery is and even had the opportunity to get up close to one. Everyone was fascinated to see what our leftover food can turn into.
We also planted a variety of plants, including herbs, peas, lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries and sunflowers. These were planted using both compost created by the worms and peat-free compost that we bought. We really enjoyed being outside in the fresh air for this lesson, and we are now looking forward to observing how the plants grow in the different types of soil.
