A few weeks ago, S2 were learning all about the world we live in. We talked about the different countries in the world. This week our focus was on Kenya and we were beginning to discover a lot of interesting facts. First of all, we found out where Kenya was located on the globe; what countries were near Kenya and how far away it was from our country, here in Northern Ireland. We then focused a little deeper into what the weather was like in Kenya, what kinds of food the people would typically eat; how they dress and what their homes might look like. All the time making comparisons to here in Northern Ireland. A highlight of our learning was discovering the “Jumping dance” which is a popular cultural dance in Kenya. The favourite part was having a go at it ourselves!
