S2's Outdoor Science Activities.

18th Jan 2019

S2 pupils enjoyed outdoor science. We dug about in the soil and examined it and found lots of things in it including leaves, cones, roots and worms. We soon realised how important the soil is to help things grow. We also discovered how important the roots are for the trees and flowers to get food, and to help them stand upright in the ground.

Pupils also took part in a mini treasure box challenge. They had 20 minutes to fill their box with as many different things from the school grounds as they could find e.g. pebbles, twigs, feathers etc. We counted and displayed these things when we returned to class and the person with the most things collected from outdoors received a prize!
