The World Around Us
This week, our focus has been on the topic of Weather and Climate, explored through maths, literacy, science, ICT, and art. We discovered the most popular type of weather among the Kilronan School community—can you guess? It’s the sunshine! We gathered this information by conducting a survey and organizing the data using tally marks and bar charts.
As part of our STEM work, we created a raincloud in a cup using water, paint, and shaving foam. Everyone loved watching the “rain” slowly fall from our fluffy foam clouds and seeing the experiment come to life. Afterwards, we wrote up our findings to explain the steps we followed.
In art, we experimented with paint-washing techniques to create rainy-themed pictures, combining oil pastels with watercolors for a striking effect. Fantastic effort from everyone!
