This has been one of our most favourite topics in J5. There were many different learning opportunities provided for each pupil as they listened, responded, interacted and re-enacted the story.
Not only did we all enjoy joining in with the story. We were able to go on a bear hunt within the classroom chanting the rhyme as we walked through the long, wavy grass, jumped in the deep, cold river, got stuck in the thick, oozy mud, stumbled in the big, dark forest and nearly froze in the swirling, whirling snowstorm. Such excitement was had when we discovered the bear in the narrow, gloomy cave!
