Exploring Magherafelt with S2

6th Nov 2019

S2 have been studying Magherafelt to gain an insight into their local town. They had many opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding and to participate in a wide range of activities. They have viewed a range of shops and local services, explored the nature of their local environment and learned about the history and geography of the area.

They had great fun recreating a map of Magherafelt (using their new-found knowledge of the town) using recyclable material and positioning their buildings and objects correctly. S2 were excellent at taking turns, working together and being creative!

They also made pancakes using the 'Genesis recipe' and they were delicious!

Through their topic on Magherafelt, S2 had many opportunities to use their literacy and numeracy skills, learn about their environment, learn about healthy eating and interact with others.

They really enjoyed all of their educational outings this far and look forward to many more to come!
